Musgrave Approaching $3 Million Mark
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

  Discuss

Musgrave Approaching $3 Million MarkTed Musgrave and the No. 1 Mopar Dodge Ram team have seen the 2005 racing season begin on a high note. You could even go so far as to say it's been tinted with rose-colored glasses. But as the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series rolls into the Atlanta Motor Speedway for next weekend's World Financial Group 200, Musgrave could be seeing a whole new hue.

Beginning in Atlanta, Musgrave will begin a march toward becoming the sixth NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver to earn $3 million in series' winnings.

Only five other drivers (Jack Sprague, Dennis Setzer, Joe Ruttman, Ron Hornaday and Rick Crawford) have made this achievement thus far in series history.

Musgrave will enter the Atlanta race with an earnings total of $2,936,581.

Musgrave will be able to add his own distinction on the career marker, though, as he could be the first driver to reach the $3 million mark in less than one hundred ten starts. Musgrave will make his one hundred second NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start when he takes the track in the World Financial Group 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway next week. Hornaday and Sprague had been the fastest to reach the milestone, cracking the $3 million barrier in 122 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series starts.

In last year's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, Musgrave drove to an eighth-place finish after qualifying in 21st position. The No. 1 Ultra Motorsports team will enter next week's World Financial Group 200 in the fourth position in series points.
