Double Bill of Night Qualifying and Truck Racing to Thrill Fans at Atlanta
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

  Discuss

The two biggest qualifying sessions in the history of Atlanta have occurred during the last two fall race weekends … when the qualifying sessions have been at night, under the lights.

In fact, night qualifying has been such a huge hit with fans that Atlanta Motor Speedway has added a second night qualifying session to the yearly calendar. When the NASCAR drivers return to Atlanta next month, they'll kick off the Golden Corral 500 weekend with Georgia Power Qualifying Night on Friday, March 18.

But that's not all … the new spring night qualifying format will also include the World Financial Group 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck race.

This will be a blockbuster night of two huge events, both held at night, under the lights.

"There is just something about watching these cars and trucks under the lights that is even more amazing. The way the lights hit that one lone car as it buzzes around the track … sitting in the grandstands, it's an awesome sight," said Ed Clark, President and General Manager of Atlanta Motor Speedway. "And anybody who saw the truck race at Daytona knows that there will be more of the same fireworks in Atlanta. It will be continuous action, constant battling, a little rubbing fenders. The truck drivers always put on a great show."

Tickets are on sale now for all three days of racing excitement during the March 18-20 Golden Corral 500 weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway, with ticket prices starting at $30. For fans who want to attend all three days or racing action, including the NASCAR Busch and NEXTEL Cup races, three-day tickets start at $65 (quantities are limited).

For more information, call the Atlanta Motor Speedway ticket office at (770) 946-4211 or visit www.atlantamotorspeedway.com.
