Brad Keselowski and the K Automotive NASCAR Craftsman Truck team struggled through this afternoon's practice sessions at the California Speedway as they tried to deal with shaking down their brand new SUBcrews.com Ford F-150. Keselowski, who left Daytona with a seventh place finish and the sixth position in championship points, elected to bring a brand new race truck to California Speedway rather than a truck that has been with the team more than five years. In order to get the new truck to California, the team was forced to spend the day after the Daytona event in a parking lot in Jacksonville, Florida putting the finishing touches on the truck.
"We really put a lot of work into this truck during the winter and this was the race track that I wanted to bring it to," said Keselowski. "Of course this is not exactly the ideal way to bring a truck to its first race, but we used these two practice sessions as more of shake downs rather than true practice for qualifying or the race. I do wish we could have tested before we brought the truck out, but I'm real confident that it will show its strength in the race Friday."
Keselowski is also making his career-first start at the two-mile California Speedway, but will mark his tenth career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start. Last week's event marked many milestones for the 21-year old as he earned his career-best NCTS finish along with his first lap ever led in a NCTS event.
