Kluever, No. 50 Ford Review: California

NOTES & QUOTES

  • The No. 50 team will be taking chassis #36 to California.  This truck previously ran at California last season when Jon Wood drove it to a 13th-place finish.
  • The California race marks Kluever's second start in the Craftsman Truck Series.  He will drive the No. 50 Shell RotellaR T Ford F-150.

Todd Kluever on California:

"I am so glad to be out of Daytona and moving on to California.  I really enjoyed racing at Daytona, but we sure didn't have any luck there.  I feel bad for all of the guys because I had two really good trucks in Daytona and neither one came back to the shop in good shape.  I was in the wrong place at the wrong time on three occasions if you count the ARCA race too. All of my teammates, from Ricky Craven to Mark Martin, have told me that Daytona isn't normal racing and that California will be much better.

"I'm looking forward to racing at California this weekend.  I've never been there before, but it looks like a great track.  I've watched a tape of the race there from last season and it looks like it's really wide and smooth.  I'm sure I will rely on some of Ricky's experience there to help me find the fastest way around the track.

"We're taking the same truck that Jon (Wood) raced there last year and since we wrecked two trucks in Daytona we are borrowing one of Ricky's trucks as a back-up.  Hopefully this week we won't need a back up and we can use a few weeks off after the race to get caught up before Atlanta."
