Kluever is Ready for his Roush Racing Debut
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

  Discuss

Racing at Daytona is something every young driver dreams of, and Todd Kluever is no exception.  He'll actually get two chances to race during SpeedWeeks since he'll be competing in the Craftsman Truck Series and the ARCA RE/MAX races.  It will be his first career start in both divisions.

"I've been in Daytona since Monday and I don't get on track until Thursday so I've had a lot of time to think about what I'm about to do," Kluever said.  "I knew when I went to North Wilkesboro for the first round of the 'Race for the Ride' that it was going to be my one opportunity to have a shot like this.  I was determined not to mess it up.

"Now I'm in Daytona and I get to run two races here.  We wanted to run the ARCA race just for me to get more experience racing and drafting before the truck race next week.  I spent a lot of time drafting during our test here in January, but I doubt that was anything compared to what it's like during a race.  Ricky (Craven) has helped me a lot during the tests, and the experience I gain from running this ARCA race will be invaluable.  Last year I raced my ASA car at Kentucky and Lowe's Motor Speedway, which are both fast tracks, but Daytona is going to be a whole new challenge."

Kluever will drive the No. 50 Shell RotellaR T Ford F-150 in the Craftsman Truck Series race on Friday, Feb. 18, and the No. 60 World Financial Group Ford Taurus in the ARCA RE/MAX race on Saturday, Feb. 12.

Roush Racing is a subsidiary of Livonia, Mich., based Roush Industries that operates 10 motorsports teams; five in NASCAR Nextel Cup with drivers Mark Martin, Matt Kenseth, Kurt Busch, Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards, three in the Busch Series with Martin, Kenseth and Edwards, and two in the Craftsman Truck Series with drivers Ricky Craven and Todd Kluever.
