Starr, Spears Team Looking Forward to Terrific Season

Eager for the first Green Flag that will signal the start of this year's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, David Starr and Spears Motorsports have high hopes for a terrific season.

"I can't wait for the season to get underway," smiles Starr with infectious enthusiasm.  "I love the holidays and really enjoyed having a couple of weeks to spend with my friends and family. But now I'm ready to get behind the wheel of my Spears Chevy Silverado.  We tested at Talladega just before Christmas and again this past week and things are looking good.  It is a great place to test and we definitely learned a lot that we will be able to apply to Daytona."

While season opener at Daytona International Speedway doesn't take place until Friday, February 18, testing at the famed Speedway gets underway next weekend.  "We will be running on both Friday, January 15 and Saturday, January 16," explains Starr.  "With what we learned at our recent test sessions, coupled with all the knowledge we gained from Chevrolet last year, we should be able to dial in our Spears Chevy in short order."

Extremely talented, enthusiastic and determined, Starr took wins last season at Gateway International Raceway (St. Louis) and Phoenix International Raceway.  "We got off to a somewhat slow start last year," continues Starr, who ended the season in 6th place overall.  "We don't intend to let that happen again.  Dave McCarty (crew chief) and everyone on the entire team are extremely motivated and more determined than ever.  Just like me, they want to win and that is what we intend to do.  We definitely want to be in contention for the Championship and nothing would be more awesome than to take home this year's title."

As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm". And if you take David Starr's enthusiasm, couple with the ability of the crew and the factory backing from Chevrolet, there is no doubt that great things are to come for this very popular driver."
