They might have to rename the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Daytona International Speedway. Todd Bodine drives this event like he owns it. Bodine held off a last-lap bid by Kyle Busch to capture his second truck race in as many years Friday night. The former series champion had to charge back through the field after being shuffled to the back of the pack for passing under the yellow line. He also had to dodge a series of multi-truck accidents that sidelined several front-running contenders before the race had reached the halfway point, including defending NASCAR Camping World Truck champion Johnny Benson. After an off season under clouds of crew cutbacks and rule changes, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series opened under bright, sunny skies at Daytona International Speedway Wednesday. In all, 38 trucks signed into the DIS garage area and participated in a pair of practices leading up to Friday's Energy Resources 250 on the 2.5-mile oval. As with every season, there's been a bunch of driver and team changes. This year, there seems like there are more than ever. Here are the players in the Truck Series garage area this week at Daytona (listed by truck number) and a brief note on their 2009 situations. (TruckSeries.com Photo by John Close)

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season kicks off Friday night at Daytona International Speedway with the NextEra Energy Resources 250, which will be televised live on SPEED, with the green flag set for 8 p.m. Eastern. The Trucks almost always put on a great show, and this year, the 10th time the Truck Series will race at Daytona, should be no exception. Nine prior NCWTS races at the 2.5-mile superspeedway have produced nine different winners, with the largest margin of victory in any one race being a whopping 0.318 seconds. Of the seven Daytona Truck races that ended under green flag conditions, the total margin of victory is .944 seconds. It doesn't get much more competitive than that.

In 2008, Johnny Benson and Ron Hornaday Jr. waged an epic battle that not only was the best in the history of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, but one of the best ever in all of NASCAR, period. After 25 races, Benson ultimately prevailed by just 7 points in a fight that literally came down to the last lap of the last race before it was settled. When the dust cleared, Benson earned his first NCWTS title, while Hornaday was thwarted in his hopes of winning a fourth series championship. Now, as the 2009 season is set to begin Friday night with the running of the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway, the question is, can these two heavyweights do it again?
