Team ASE (Automotive Service Excellence), the longest running team sponsor in Craftsman Truck Series history and veteran NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Champion driver Ted Musgrave will join forces once again in 2008. Musgrave will pilot the No. 59 Team ASE Toyota Tundra fielded by HT Motorsports and led by champion crew chief Danny Rollins. HT Motorsports is owned by Jim Harris, who has been involved in motorsports for many years. Harris, a Virginia resident, is CEO of Harris Trucking Co. and operates the team in Martinsville, Virginia. "I really look forward to the addition of Team ASE and Ted to our program," stated Harris. "We truly appreciate the confidence they have shown in this organization so far and I think we have a bright future. Adding someone with the talent and experience like Ted is not only exciting for me but everyone associated with the team. We all look for a very successful 2008 season." (VPS Motorimages)

Immediately following Ron Hornaday's dramatic come-from-behind campaign to capture the 2007 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship (his record-tying third in the series) when the checkered flag fell at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Chevrolet teams went to work preparing for the 2008 season. "It is amazing how little time we have between Homestead and Daytona," said Dayne Pierantoni, GM Racing's Chevrolet program manager, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. "We barely had time to celebrate Ron's drivers championship and Kevin Harvick, Inc.'s (KHI) first owner's title before we turned our focus 100% to preparing for Daytona in February and the start of the 2008 season. "With the limitations we have on at-track testing, every hour in the wind tunnel and every minute on an engine dyno is critical in assisting our teams in being prepared for the season. Fortunately we have the Daytona test weekend in January to give us a good gauge as to where we are in the draft and what we need to accomplish before qualifying and the race. (Ronda Greer Photo)

Roush Fenway Racing rookie Colin Braun had a great run going with his AIM Autosport teammates in the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway until a blown right-rear tire ended their race about eight hours short of the finish. After having each of its four drivers lead for a combined total of 40 laps, the No. 61 Ford Riley retired from competition on lap 502 early Sunday morning after issues with the right-rear tire caused heavy damage to the car. Braun was not driving at the time of the incident.

As the new year gets under way and the season ushered in, 2008 also brings significant change for one of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series' veteran organizations. In December, Bobby Hamilton Racing announced that the organization would enter into a partnership with Arrington Manufacturing for the 2008 season and beyond. With that partnership also came the decision for the team to relocate from its home in Tennessee to Martinsville, Va., all in an effort to bring the team closer to the hub of NASCAR. The newly reconstituted Bobby Hamilton Racing Virginia (BHR VA), with the full support of manufacturer Dodge, expects the year to be fruitful. Dodge, a three-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Manufacturers' champion with 64 victories, hasn't seen Victory Lane since the late Hamilton won at Mansfield Motorsports Park in May 2005. Former teammates and veteran drivers Stacy Compton (No. 4 BHR VA Dodge) and Dennis Setzer (No. 18 BHR VA Dodge) join BHR VA's roster for the upcoming season and are making a homecoming of sorts to the manufacturer. Each of Compton's two victories were recorded in a Dodge. Setzer also has driven a Ram truck to Victory Lane. (Ronda Greer Photo)

Kentucky Speedway has adjusted its 2008 schedule and will now play host to its ARCA RE/MAX Series “Kentucky 150” and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series “Built Ford Tough 225 Presented by the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers” events July 18 and 19. The events were originally scheduled July 11 and 12. Dates were changed to best accommodate NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series broadcast agreements with SPEED Channel. “This adjustment provides us a great opportunity to place our July ARCA RE/MAX Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events in an even stronger national spotlight as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will not compete that weekend. We thank Ford, the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, ARCA RE/MAX Series and SPEED Channel officials for partnering with us to help gain the maximum exposure for our July race events,” Kentucky Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager Mark F. Cassis said.

Test Session Special Airs Jan. 11 on SPEED - California and Martinsville Events on FOX
It's been 54 days since Ron Hornaday beat Mike Skinner for the 2007 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship in the season finale at Homestead. At SPEED, those 54 days provided time for the motor sports authority to kick things up a few notches for the 2008 NASCAR season. On the tails of one of the most competitive points battles in years, SPEED is revving up to bring Truck Series fans the best season ever with dramatic changes that will be evident long before the haulers park at Daytona. "We were on the edge of our seats with a historic points battle in the Truck Series last season that literally went down to the wire," said SPEED President Hunter Nickell. "SPEED was there for every second of every lap and delivered to the fans the stories and people behind the rivalries. This season promises to be just as fiercely competitive and we plan to bring the Truck Series racing alive each week with Hi-Def, expanded Speedweeks coverage, a special NCTS Setup and the re-launch of SPEEDtv.com in widescreen format. We've made a lot of significant changes this season and with SPEED, NASCAR fans won't miss a thing."
