Race 19 in the 2008 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Season

Race fans got more than they bargained for at New Hampshire when two of the pit crews slugged it out on pit road...

Johnny Benson and Ron Hornaday Jr. continue to wage a terrific battle at the top of the Truck standings. Benson and Hornaday have combined to win seven of the last eight NCTS races, with Hornaday riding a two-race winning streak in his No. 33 Camping World Chevrolet Silverado heading into Las Vegas. During those two races, Hornaday has trimmed Benson's point lead from 119 to 74 with seven races to go. There's absolutely no reason to believe that this title fight won't go down to the wire in the season-ending race at Homestead-Miami Speedway in November, and that's a very good thing indeed.

From coast to coast, Ron Hornaday, Jr. is on a tear, capturing the Keystone Light Pole Award at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Hornaday, driver of the No. 33 Camping World Chevrolet and Vegas bookmakers favorite, will start up front in tonight's Qwik Liner Las Vegas 350 live on SPEED at 9:00 pm Eastern. A 31.685 second lap averaging a 170.428 mph put the reigning NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Champion in tonight's event, the 19th race of the 2008 season.

Mike Skinner won Saturday night's Qwik Liner Las Vegas 350 NASCAR Craftsman Truck race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Saturday night, with a dramatic last-lap pass of Erik Darnell in a race marred by a record number of cautions. Points leader Johnny Benson had a disastrous night, blowing a right-front tire and crashing hard en route to a 27th-place finish in the 31-truck race. Benson lost the points lead to Ron Hornaday Jr. for the first time since Memphis seven weeks ago. Benson's crash made the points race a virtual dead heat with six races to go.
