Good Morning from MIS
06-15-2007 8:43 am
Good morning from the Irish Hills of Michigan as we kick off TrackSideLive! coverage of round number 10 of the 2007 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, the Michigan 200 from here at Michigan International Speedway. It is a nice morning with bright sun and relatively mild temperatures, with the high expected to reach 83 to 85 later in the day. That's about ten degrees cooler than its been throughout the week, so it should be a lot easier on the drivers and crews today than it would have been a couple of days ago. l The garage has been open since 6 am ET, so we'll make a spin through and see what's going on and set the scene for the day shortly.
Toiday's Track Schedule

1:10 - 1:40 pm ET: NCTS Rookie Practice

Still Want to Start from the Pole?
06-15-2007 9:06 am
At many tracks, starting up front is a big bonus. While the records show starting near the front here is still a good thing, starting from the pole might not be the place to take the green. In seven previous NCTS races here, the pole starter has yet to win a race. Races have been won from second, fifth, sixth, eighth (twice), tenth, and eleventh.

Pics and Audio!
06-15-2007 4:05 pm
As we do each and every week, our TruckShots! gallery from MIS is literally jammed full of images from not only today's action here at the track but from yesterday as well. We were on site as the transporters were brought into the garage and got some great shots of the big rigs that carry all of the equipment up and down the highways and byways of the USA to put on the best racing in all of NASCAR.
We have a lot of audio for you to hear while you are browsing the image galleries too. Click on the Podtrac player to listen to interviews with Willie Allen, Johnny Benson, Terry Cook, Rick Crawford, Travis Kvapil, Ryan Mathews, Chad McCumbee, Dennis Setzer, and Mike Skinner.
We are going to load up and follow Johnny Benson down to our home track, Toledo Speedway, to watch him compete in the ISMA Supermodified portion of the "Fastest Short Track Show in the World". We'll update how he does tomorrow morning as we lead into our Live! Bud Pole Qualifying coverage starting at 11 am ET.
We'll pick up coverage tomorrow morning. So long for now!

The KHI team is busy finishing up an engine change on the No. 2 Chevrolet for driver and team owner Kevin Harvick. On his qualifying run, the engine sounded extremely off key and the team discovered terminal problems necessitating the swap. 3. The first pace lap is complete. The field is setting their pit road speed.
2. Engines have been fired. The trucks are about ready to roll off pit road. Thej jet blowers are making a final sweep around the track prior to the roll off. 1. The invocation and national anthem have been given and performed. The crowd is settling in, and we are moments away from the command to fire engines.
