Just as he has for the past several seasons, J. C Stout and the Stellar-Quest Racing Team will attempt a limited number of NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races in 2007. It will mark the fifth consecutive season in which Stout has competed in the series. A short track ace in his native New York, Stout made his first appearance in the NCTS at Martinsville Speedway in 2003. Since then, he has made an additional nine series starts, including four in 2006. The team is planning on a five-race slate for 2007 with events at Charlotte, Michigan, Kentucky, Nashville, and Loudon on the docket. Stout has raced previously at Kentucky, Nashville, and Loudon, but he will be attempting to make his first ever starts at both Charlotte and Michigan. Stout's familiar No. 91 Chevrolets will carry LESCO branding on the quarter panels for each of the team's five scheduled attempts. More races could be added to the team's slate if additional sponsorship materializes. (Team PR Photo)

When Bobby Hamilton Sr. began the search to fill his own seat of the No. 18 Fastenal Dodge three months before his passing he called upon a select number of drivers he knew could get the job done. The announcement was made at the end of last season that Hamilton Sr. tagged Ken Schrader as his replacement. However, Schrader's Nextel Cup schedule does not permit him to compete full time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series leaving the BHR stable to find a co-driver. Referring to Hamilton Sr.'s list of drivers he had previously spoke with and the record books for all time winners in the NCTS, the management team at BHR, along with input from Fastenal and Dodge Motorsports, are proud to announce Joe Ruttman as the co-driver of the No. 18 Fastenal Dodge. For some reason, athletes who have successful rookie seasons in their respective sports always get asked about the dreaded Sophomore Slump. Erik Darnell is coming off his Rookie of the Year campaign driving the No. 99 Ford for Roush Racing. (David M. Vaughn Photo)

Going to the tracks for the first time without him is hard but paying tribute to Bobby helps us remember those good times we all had as a team."

Since its inception back in 1953, there have been many drivers to use the Automobile Racing Club of America's premier division as a launching pad to success in NASCAR. The ARCA RE/MAX Series has given us the likes of Charlie Glotzbach, Benny Parsons, Davey Allison, Bob Keselowski, and Jeremy Mayfield just to name a few. While Frank Kimmel has won the last seven series championships, there have still been drivers coming to the series and making their mark. The latest of these young guns to graduate from the ARCA ranks hoping to make a name in NASCAR is the 2006 RE/MAX Series rookie of the year Blake Bjorklund. The Isanti, Minnesota native started last year as a relative unknown, but ended the season with a victory on one of the series' most challenging tracks, the Bill France Triple Crown award for earning the most points on three very different and challenging venues, and he also earned himself a seat in a developmental ride for a growing NASCAR Nextel Cup Series operation. The following words hang on the team bulletin board at Bobby Hamilton Racing as inspiration to those who walk through the doors every morning: "The purpose of life is not to win. The purpose of life is to grow and to share. When you come to look back on all that you've done in life, you will get more satisfaction from the pleasure you have brought into other people's lives than you will from times that you outdid them and defeated them." With the recent passing of Bobby Hamilton Sr. in January from cancer, the BHR stable has experienced first hand the hard lessons of life outside of racing. The team he left behind is not only dedicated to racing the 2007 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in his memory, but to give back to others fighting cancer. On Monday, several team members loaded up and made the journey to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) in Memphis, Tenn. to visit with children battling the disease. The name sounds like he should be carrying a guitar up and down Music Row in Nashville. But, the only thing Willie Allen is going to be carrying is a helmet - and hopefully some trophies one day soon. Allen, 26, is making a Rookie of the Year bid in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this year. Driving the No. 13 ThorSport Chevrolet, this Nashville native hopes the backing he's received leading up to this point will turn into a big hit on the track. Not the kind of hit that makes fabricators and owners groan, but the kind of hit good friends Wendell Mobley and Ted Greene are used to dealing with. Mobley is a country songwriter who has penned hits for Rascal Flats ("I Melt") and Kenny Chesney ("How Forever Feels"). He met Allen when they were both running around the local tracks in Nashville. The week of the season-opening NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Daytona International Speedway usually has teams and drivers focused on going fast around the 2.5-mile high-banked superspeedway. With 36 trucks snarling around the speedway at 185 miles per hour and the prestige of winning at the World Center of Speed, it usually takes every ounce of focus by every member of the team. So much so that most of the off season is spent focused on racing at Daytona. That's not to say there isn't time for relaxing prior to the start of the season. Some drivers will take a vacation prior to the start of the season. Even with just 25 races, there are enough laps to be turned and off-track responsibilities to give even the most enthusiastic and energetic reason to want a weekend off now and then. Some drivers take an ocean cruise, while others head overseas to Europe or other exotic points of call. Still others head for the warmer climates for some time on the beach or the golf course. Not Brendan Gaughan. (VPS Motorimages Photo)
