This has not been a season to remember thus far for Jon Wood, whose NASCAR Busch Series schedule was cut short by illness several months ago. But the silver lining appears that Wood may be able to finish off 2007 with superlative performances in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Wood became the fourth driver of the year in the No. 21 Wood Brothers/JTG Racing Ford at Kentucky Speedway and responded with a sixth-place finish. The first thing David Green could say after climbing from the No. 1 RFMS/Red Horse Racing Toyota was, "Whew!" The 1994 NASCAR Busch Series champion hadn't been in a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race in a decade - but Green raced his way to a fifth-place finish in the July 14 Built Ford Tough 225 at Kentucky Speedway despite landing the ride a few days earlier. "Things have changed," said Green, "a lot." ( Charles Krall/TruckSeries.com Photo)

Mike Skinner ran away with the Built Ford Tough 225 to win his fourth NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race of the season Saturday at Kentucky Speedway. Skinner's Bill Davis Racing Toyota led 135 of 150 laps on the 1.5-mile track and was in front of runner-up Travis Kvapil by 5.57 seconds at the checkered flag. Skinner had led 87 of the opening 95 laps when he guided the lead lap cars down pit lane for their final scheduled pit stops. He came out in fourth behind Todd Bodine, rookie Ryan Mathews and Brendan Gaughan. "We never turned a bolt, never changed the air pressure (in the tires)," Skinner said. (VPS Motorimages Photo)

On a night when he never had to make a single adjustment to his truck, Mike Skinner dominated the field to win his fourth NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race of the 2007 season by taking the checkered flag in the Built Ford Tough 225 at Kentucky Speedway. Skinner started fourth but staked his claim early on, darting to the lead within the first ten laps and staying there for 133 of the race's 150 circuits. Skinner gave up the lead on a round of pit stops on lap 97, but then leader Todd Bodine didn't take tires and that allowed Skinner to blast the No. 5 Toyota Tundra Toyota back into the lead on the restart. From there, Skinner was able to open up a sizable advantage. (Nate Mecha/HSP)

Ryan Mathews earned his first career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Bud Pole Award in qualifying for tonight's Built Ford Tough 225 at Kentucky Speedway. Mathews held off a strong challenge by former Kentucky pole sitter Bill Lester to keep the top spot, with just one one-thousandth of a second separating the front row starters. Mathews turned a lap of 31.222 seconds/172.955 miles per hour in his newly renumbered No. 22 Bill Davis Racing Toyota, just ahead of Lester's 31.223 seconds/172.949 mph effort in Billy Ballew's No. 15 Bowen Family Homes Chevrolet.

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series kicks off the second half of its 2007 season this Saturday night with a 225-mile clash on the high banks of the Kentucky Speedway. In the race's seven-year history, the track has produced great racing with two- and three-wide racing often the order of the day. While there have been some dominant performances over the years at Kentucky, there have also been several unpredictable outcomes with the winner coming to the front within sight of the checkered flag. With unpredictability the hallmark of competition in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, odds are that the winner of the Built Ford Tough 225 will not be determined until the finish line is in sight. Last season, Ron Hornaday Jr.'s victory in the Built Ford Tough 225 ignited a mid-summer hot streak of top-five finishes at Kentucky Speedway, Memphis Motorsports Park and O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis. The two-time champion cooled off a bit in the fall but Hornaday has been a title contender since this year's drop of the green flag at Daytona in February. Second in the standings going into the season's mid-point, Hornaday would like nothing better than to defend his victory and become Kentucky Speedway's first series two-time winner. "The win at Kentucky was very special," said Hornaday, who looks for series win number 32 on Saturday. "It really signified a turnaround in our program." (High Sierra Photo)

Red Horse Racing announced today that Kentucky's own David Green will be behind the wheel of the No. 1 RFMS/Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra for the Built Ford Tough 225 presented by the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers on Saturday night at Kentucky Speedway. Red Horse Racing's decision to have Green pilot the No. 1 RFMS/Red Horse Racing Toyota this weekend comes following the arrest of Aaron Fike. "We are still investigating to get first hand information on what happened with Aaron," said General Manager and Team Owner, Tom DeLoach. (NASCAR Images Photo)
