Dennis Setzer drove the entire 250-lap distance without a pit stop Saturday to win the Ohio 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Mansfield Motorsports Park. It was Setzer's first NCTS victory since Aug. 5, 2005 at O'Reilly Raceway Park (Clermont, Ind.) and the 17th of his career. "It's been a long drought," Setzer said. Setzer began saving fuel from the start in his Chevrolet and was aided by 103 caution laps. Many of those were for laps to help dry the track. The race was stopped for rain three times for a total of five hours. (VPS Motorimages Photo)

Prior to the race, TruckSeries.com's Charles Krall and Mansfield Motorsports Park President Mike Dzurilla presented Lori Hamilton an original acrylic painting of Bobby Hamilton's No. 18 Fastenal Dodge in commemoration of Hamilton's final NASCAR win which came at Mansfield in May 2005. The painting was also presented on behalf of the racing fans in the state of Ohio, which drew a thunderous response from the crowd as the painting was presented to all of the BHR team members on the frontstretch. On a day that was punctuated by rain, Dennis Setzer pulled off a rare feat by running an entire NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race without visiting pit road to win the Ohio 250 at Mansfield Motorsports Park. The Newton, N.C. veteran outlasted the competition and picked up his 17th career series victory and his ninth on tracks under a mile in length. Setzer feather-footed his way to the win in Wayne and Connie Spears' No. 75 Spears Manufacturing Chevrolet, pacing himself and conserving fuel while others raced hard all day long. Setzer was running second on lap 239 when leader Rick Crawford had a right front tire go down coming out of turn four, which sent the pack scrambling to find an escape route. Setzer went high, narrowly avoiding a collision and just barely holding back a hard charging Aaron Fike in the process. (Phillip Abbott Photo)

Ted Musgrave battled for 250 laps on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series' shortest track to end a rain-delayed day with an eighth-place finish in the Ohio 250 at Mansfield Motorsports Park. After starting 21st in the 36-truck field, Musgrave found himself at the tail of the line after an early spin but the No. 9 Team ASE Toyota was one of the few trucks capable of making passes on the low side and he eventually worked his way back up to the top ten. May 26th, Mansfield, OH. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series fought Mother Nature for an all-day marathon that included thirteen cautions and five and a half hours of red-flag delays for rain. Dennis Setzer came out on top of the 250-lap race with an amazing no-pit strategy.

"The race was all right. We started off a little shaky; we didn't plan on pitting twice, we really didn't plan to put tires on it. But we put fuel in it right away. I didn't feel like we would be able to run up front with how it was, so we decided to back come down pit road and put four tires on it, which we really gave up all our track position at that point."

You are the defending winner, how does your truck stack up to last year?
"We are pretty good. Good enough that I was going for the pole on first lap when we spun. I think we might have had it, but just got loose there and looped it. But to comoe back and qualify ninth isn't too bad really. We will be good for the race." -

"The Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International F-Series pick-up had two laps of bold moves and it did exactly what I was looking for. So, we're starting on the outside front row tomorrow. It's a great start for the guys at Circle Bar Racing."

“We’re pretty happy with that lap. The Toyota Tundra has been fast all year, and today was no different. We did one qualifying run during practice, and that was good, so we knew we were going to contend for the pole tonight. That’s all we had in it. I could’ve gone out there five more times without getting the same lap time,” -
Mike Skinner.

If you ask Mike Skinner, scoring eight consecutive poles in a row to equal the record he set in 1995 is an impossibility. If you judge his performance on the track, you know that even with the statistical improbability of scoring eight in a row he has a decent chance at making a run for the record. Skinner will lead the field to the green flag for tomorrow's Ohio 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Mansfield Motorsports Park, the 37th Bud Pole Award of his career. Skinner ran his No. 5 Toyota Tundra Toyota around the half-mile Mansfield Mortorsports Park oval in 16.382 seconds at an average speed of 109.877 miles per hour. "These are tough fields to beat these days," Skinner said after his pole run. "I asked if anyone had ever done five in a row before and NASCAR's Owen Kearns told me 'yea, you did.' It's an incredible feat and we're proud to do it. But when I look at it, I really just can't imagine winning five poles in a row." (VPS Motorimages Photo)

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series moves into Ohio for some good old-fashioned short track racing this weekend, and with the shortest track of them all waiting for them. We should see plenty of bent sheet metal and bruised feelings as a result. The Ohio 250 has been a pit strategy race the past couple of seasons, but a change in the tire compound should alleviate that and put some of the competition back on the track. Here is who to look for once they open the gates at Mansfield Motorsports Park this weekend:
Ron Hornaday, No. 33 Camping World Chevrolet:
Hornaday is the defending winner, and is fresh off a dominant win at Charlotte. He also looked like a winner in 2005 before getting pegged for an improper restart. He could become the first two-time Mansfield winner. (High Sierra Photo)

The timing couldn't be better for Ron Hornaday Jr. and his No. 33 Camping World Chevrolet team to return to Mansfield Motorsports Park. Hornaday, the defending race winner at Mansfield, ended a 17-race winless streak when he grabbed the checkered flag at Lowe's Motor Speedway last Friday night. Hornaday had not won a race since Kentucky Speedway on July 8, 2006. The streak was the third-longest of Hornaday's career - he went 28 races without a victory in 2005-2006. The win moved Hornaday up to third in the standings. It is the first time Hornaday, the series champion in 1996 and 1998, has been third since Oct. 2005, following Atlanta Motor Speedway. Hornaday now has 30 career victories in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series - a series record. He has won at least one race in nine different seasons, including every season that he has started more than one race (he started one race in 2004 and finished sixth). Saturday's Ohio 250 at Mansfield Motorsports Park will be broadcast on FOX, the second series race the network will air this season. (VPS Motorimages Photo)
