Martin was able to race his way back onto the lead lap and knifed his way through the field, getting up front on a restart with four laps remaining. Rookie Race Notes : Talladega 10-07-2006 7:21 pm
Rookie Race Notes: Talladega "When we had drafting help we ran well. We didn't have drafting help most of the time. It was just so tough out there. Our truck wasn't good enough to lead and it definitely wasn't good enough to make runs on people and try to pass by myself. It was a frustrating day for sure. It was a big chess match but every time I made a move it was the wrong move." -Aric Almirola (Steve Keller/TruckSeries.com Photo)

Toyota Race Notes : Talladega 10-07-2006 6:59 pm
Toyota Race Notes: Talladega "From where I was it was a clean pass. That's the problem with having a rule that's an interpretation of a rule. When I got alongside Mark (Martin) I was above the yellow line. He turned and pulled me below the yellow line. The interpretation is if you start the pass below the yellow line. I didn't start to pass below the yellow line." -Todd Bodine (Steve Keller/TruckSeries.com Photo)

Talladega Can Turn Season Upside Down 10-05-2006 11:27 am
Talladega Can Turn Season Upside Down Through 19 of 26 races in the 2006 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season, things have remained relatively normal. Even the season opener at Daytona was more calm than usual. The racing has been good, there have been numerous different winners, and yes, even some fender-benders from time to time, all of which are expected in the Truck Series. Sure, there have been moments when tempers have risen and we've seen a few things we didn't expect, but for the most part, the season has been a run-of-the-mill year. The next race at Talladega Superspeedway has the potential to change all of that. (David M. Vaughn Photo)

This Week in Ford Racing: Terry Cook 10-04-2006 5:11 am
This Week in Ford Racing: Terry Cook Terry Cook, driver of the No. 10 Ford F-150, has no qualms about racing at Talladega Superspeedway this weekend as the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series makes its inaugural visit to the 2.66-mile speedway. Cook, who in seven races at Daytona, the only other track over two miles in length on the circuit, has one pole and six top-10 finishes, spoke about adding a superspeedway to the schedule and the evolution of the truck series from its short-track racing roots. How big of an impact has the addition of Talladega been to the Truck Series schedule? "It's big, and all you have to do is look at the entry blank and look at the purse that they're paying. If it's not the second-largest purse of the year, it's right near the second-largest purse of the year. Daytona is by far the jewel, but if you look at the pay scale, Talladega is probably the second-highest paying race."
