Frank Cicci today announced that he has tapped Todd Bodine to replace Randy LaJoie in the #34 Frank Cicci Racing with Jim Kelly Chevrolet for the upcoming races in Kansas City and at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte. Bodine is currently one of the Craftsman Truck Series hottest drivers with two victories and a pair of second place finishes in the last handful of races.

Bodine's Rollercoaster Season on an Upswing No. 30 Germain Motor Company Toyota driver Todd Bodine loves rollercoasters but had no idea when the 2005 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season started, that his season would resemble one. Starting the season with a new team, Bodine finished third at Daytona but then struggled through nine more races. At Milwaukee, Bodine was reunited with his 2004 team, Germain Racing, and it took only his second race with the group to break into victory lane at Kansas for his first win of the season and the third NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win of his career. Since rejoining the Germain team, Bodine has moved from 15th in championship standings to fifth. Team officials announced today that Keith Barnwell has resigned as General Manager of ppc Racing effective immediately because he has accepted a position with another team.  Barnwell has served as team General Manager since 1999, and has been a part of a Busch Series Championship and multiple wins with a number of top-notch drivers, crew chiefs and mechanics. “I have enjoyed working with Keith, and am sorry to lose a friend to another team” said Greg Pollex, ppc Racing’s owner.

Dodge, which has fielded teams in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series since its inception in 1995, will redirect some resources from series to the Nextel Cup Series next season, a Dodge official confirmed Thursday.  "Dodge has competed in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for many years and has won three manufacturer's titles and one driver's championship," said Bob Wildberger, senior manager for Dodge Motorsports' NASCAR operations.

Kansas Speedway has been a leader in minority business development since being built in 2001. The track was named as Corporation of the Year for 2005 by the Minority Supplier Council. On the evening of October 6th Dr Bud Feldkamp was facing a pretty serious problem. He was sitting in the drivers’ meeting for the Vegas to Reno desert race and his second driver for the event, his son, Buddy Feldkamp, was nowhere in sight. After a few calls to find out what was going on with the man who would pilot the final 200 miles of this 500 mile event the senior Feldkamp knew his best laid plans were like a crashed race car, or just so much junk. Team ASE Reaffirms Commitment to Ultra Truck Program in 2006 10-12-2005 4:44 pm
The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence announced today it had agreed to return as primary sponsor of the No. 2 Team ASE NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series entry fielded by Ultra Motorsports in 2006.  The agreement will extend the sponsorship association between Team ASE and Ultra Motorsports to 12 years. That association is already the longest, consecutive sponsorship agreement in the history of the Truck Series.

No. 12 Toyota Tundra Transport Driver Gilbert is no Rookie Logging thousands of miles cross-country is something Jeff Gilbert has become accustomed to. The Catawba (N.C.) native is responsible for transporting the No. 12 Toyota Tundra coast-to-coast to each NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event for Darrell Waltrip Motorsports. With this year being Gilbert's first year as a transport driver in the series, the NCTS Drivers Association presented a Rookie of the Year Award to him during their Las Vegas banquet recently. This Sunday, October 16th, at Hickory Motor Speedway, Jarit Johnson will drive in the “Fall Brawl”. He will pilot the No. 44 WCNC Chuck Howard Sports Monte Carlo. Over 300 resumes were submitted to Access Marketing & Communications, which manages Drive for DiversitySM, for the opportunity to participate during the 2006 season. Based upon the information submitted, 19 ethnic and gender minority drivers were selected to attend this year's combine by a panel of motorsports professionals.

Las Vegas based Orleans Racing announced today that veteran driver Steve Park has been released from the No. 62 Orleans Dodge, effective immediately. Orleans Racing was prompted by its indecision regarding their 2006 program and rather than keep Park from exploring other available options the decision was made to free Park from his obligations with the team for the remainder of the year.

Team Mopar's USAC National Sprint Car Series contingent racked up a fast time award, a heat race win, two Top-five finishes and five Top-10 finishes at Winchester Speedway in Indiana on Sunday. Tracy Hines drove the No. 69 Hoffman Auto Racing machine to the fast time award in qualifying. In heat race action, Jerry Coons Jr., subbing for Jay Drake in the Tony Stewart Racing Enterprises No. 21 machine, won the second heat race of the day.

25-Race Schedule Includes New Event at Talladega Superspeedway   The 2006 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule was announced today, a 25-race slate beginning at Daytona International Speedway on Friday, Feb. 17 and ending on Friday, Nov. 17 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The schedule consists of 25 events for the fourth consecutive season and includes a Saturday, Oct. 7 inaugural race at Talladega Superspeedway which, at 2.66 miles in length, will become the largest track on which the series has competed.

Darlington Raceway's ongoing renovation projects continued last week with the removal of the Brasington Grandstand from Turn 2. Brasington, constructed in 1965, was one of the last remaining covered grandstands in racing until the roof was removed in 2004 to accommodate the addition of lights at the track "Too Tough To Tame."

NASCAR's Car of Tomorrow Tests at Atlanta 10-31-2005 6:21 pm
Cars were on track at Atlanta Motor Speedway today, just one day after the Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500. With five race teams' participation, NASCAR tested the Car of Tomorrow in a day-long test session. Yesterday's race winner Carl Edwards was among the drivers testing. Joining him were Jeff Burton, Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Petty and Brian Vickers, all testing cars from their own teams and Brett Bodine driving NASCAR's representative car.
