HORNADAY:
I really love Dover. We run good there. I’m just really looking forward to the green flag dropping. I know Wally’s going to give me the best piece he can. The GM Goodwrench truck is looking good. They’re getting chassis dyno-ed right now. RCR’s going to give us the best horsepower. So it’s all up to me now to go out there and win the race.
HARVICK:
I think we could add another race if we got rid of the All-Star race. I think that’s kind of a waste of time. It tears up a lot of race cars, and really just kind of a waste of a weekend for the race teams. (High Sierra Photo)

“The last couple of weeks I’ve had the opportunity to work with a crew chief – Rambo – Toni Liberati or Liberace like I like to call him. He’s too short to be a Rambo, so Liberace works for me, but we’ve had Rambo the last couple of weeks. It started out like ‘come and help me these next two weeks and get me through this tough spot where I’m looking for my crew chief.’ After the chemistry he and I had and the way the Orleans team has run, we do things as a team. After qualifying at Charlotte, I looked at the whole team and said ‘all right guys, I’m pretty happy.’ I put it to a vote of both teams and every guy on the 77 and 62 raised their hands. They wanted Rambo to come and be our crew chief full time. I offered him a job. He went out and met my dad and now Rambo is going to take over the reigns of the 77. I’m pretty happy." - Brendan Gaughan (High Sierra Photo)

It's always nice to have a plan. For USAR Pro Cup Series rookie Chase Pistone and his FasTime Racing team, that plan is pretty simple crawl before you walk, walk before you run and then it's time to start thinking about winning the marathon. Already this season, Pistone earned a pole in the Pro Cup Series and had some strong runs. Three races ago, he finished in the top-10 for the first time. He repeated that at Concord in the last Pro Cup event, so heading into Ace Speedway (NC) on Friday night, it was time to record a top-five finish. And that's exactly what he did, finishing fifth in the 250-lap event.

Jim Smith, whose dreams became the reality of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series more than a decade ago, continues to makes his presence known – and in a big way. Smith, owner of Ultra Motorsports and one of four off-road racers who presented the concept of truck racing to NASCAR in 1994, is the epitome of “10 Years Tough,” this season’s celebration of the series’ first 10 years. The California native has entered at least one truck in each of 247 races and now boasts victories in all 11 seasons. The latest win – by Ted Musgrave (No. 1 Mopar Dodge) on April 30 at Gateway International Raceway – was a record-matching performance. (Team PR Photo)
