Hamilton is Not Points Racing... Yet
Believe Me When I say: “I don’t pay a lot of attention to the points right now, really I don’t. I feel like with five races to go there will be a lot of pressure on me to go harder for the championship, but for now I think winning races is more important. If you continue to win races or get top-five or top-10 finishes, then the championship will fall into place.
Chaffin Looking to Repeat "One Day Show" Success at Richmond
If the truck isn’t running well, I prefer to have the Happy Hour practice and then race the following day. It gives Crew Chief Kip McCord and I time to sort some things out. If you unload and the truck is really fast, then you like the one-day shows because it doesn’t give everybody else a chance to catch up. We’ve had some success with the one-day show format this year.

2003 NASCAR Dodge Weekly National Champion Mark McFarland will be behind the wheel of the No. 59 HT Motorsports NASCAR Craftsman race truck at Richmond International Raceway on Thursday, September 9th.
Setzer, No. 46 Chevrolet Pre-Race Report: Richmond
“We have been in contention to win just about every time we have been to Richmond. Some of my worst finishes were my best races, which is pretty darn close to the way we have been running lately. I really like this track and had a chance to see the Cup guys test here last week. I think the track surface is in the best condition that I have ever seen it. We need a good run and Richmond should be a good track for us.”
Spears Team has Momentum Heading into Richmond
For David Starr (No. 75 Spears Manufacturing Chevrolet), 2004 is starting to look more like 2002 and Starr, who finished fifth in the 2002 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship battle, couldn’t be more pleased. “Finally, we got the monkey off our back and things are looking good,” said the Houston native, who has battled his way from 22nd in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series standings to eighth place. “Everyone has his slumps and the beginning of the year was mine.” Starr and the Spears team have been surging, with the high point being a victory in the July 19 Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers 200 at Gateway International Raceway. Since early July, Starr has three top-fives and finished seventh in last week’s O’Reilly 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway. (High Sierra Photo)

Sprague on Richmond: Bar Level of Competition Raised
“Richmond is just a great place to race. It is truly a driver’s track. You have to be up on the wheel. Things happen pretty fast here too but not quite as tough as Bristol. I really like the track but if you aren’t handling right, it will be a very long night. It is a fairly technical track that really requires a balanced truck."
Starr Plans for Strong Finish at Richmond
“I think the ‘monkey’ is finally off our back and we are planning for another strong finish this weekend. While our best finish at Richmond has been a 12th, it has been due to things beyond our control. Our Spears Chevy has been strong every time and we expect the same this time out."
Terry Cook, No. 10 Ford Race Preview: Richmond
“We’ve been very successful there in the past at Richmond International Raceway. It is one of my favorite tracks on the schedule. It’s one of those tracks we’ve been able to qualify very well but haven’t really got the race package where it needed to be. It has to deal a lot with having practice early on in the daytime and racing at night and just not keeping up with the race setup of the truck.”
GM Racing/Team Silverado Pre-Event Notes and Quotes
Setzer has three top-five finishes in six races at RIR in a NASCAR Craftsman Truck. He won a NASCAR Sportsman race at RIR in 1991. Patience is Key for Edwards at Richmond
"I'm hoping this year will go a lot better than my first race at Richmond last year. I hit the wall twice last year and ended up in 25th place. I think this year I've learned to be a little more patient and the guys always remind me that if the truck isn't right to wait it out until we can pit for adjustments rather than overdrive it.
Wood, No. 99 Ford Race Preview: Richmond
"I've raced at Richmond three times in the truck. The first two races didn't go so well, but last year we got our first top-five finish there. This year we are going to do everything we can to do at least that well again. We spent two days testing at Memphis since the tracks are somewhat similar. We learned some good things at the test that will help us at Richmond and a few other places."

Diary of a Champion: Rough Ride in Richmond
I’ve always had strong runs at Richmond, so I never expected to be sitting in the garage with a handful of laps under my belt. Richmond’s one of those weekends I’d definitely like to forget. On the bright side, I’m always excited to race in the IROC events. I got there Wednesday afternoon and tested my IROC car for a couple of hours. I had a really good time making some laps in my car and thought I’d have a good shot at running well. But when they dropped the green flag, I really struggled all night. (High Sierra Photo)
