Speedway Saturday got all the excitement it wanted – and then some. Veterans Bobby Hamilton and Mike Skinner exchanged the lead four times over the final 10 laps before Hamilton’s Square D Dodge overtook the 1995 series champion’s Toyota Tundra Toyota off the final corner to win the EasyCare Vehicle Services Contract 200. Skinner, who led a race-high 68 laps, lost control of his truck after the contenders swapped paint and spun through the infield grass to finish second, .333-second behind Hamilton.

Hamilton Wins Thriller at Atlanta Speedway
Bobby Hamilton, a lap behind early in the race because of an untimely caution flag, roared back to score a thrilling, final lap victory in Saturday's inaugural NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series EasyCare Vehicle Service Contracts 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Hamilton, who scored his fifth series victory in the No. 4 Square D Dodge, passed 1995 champion Mike Skinner in the final turn of the 133rd and final lap to win by a third of a second. Skinner, who'd traded the advantage with Hamilton four times over the race's final 10 laps, spun underneath the checkered flag to finish second in his Toyota Tundra Toyota.
Hank Parker, Jr. on the Mend After Wreck in Atlanta
Following a multi-truck accident on lap 44 on Saturday, Hank Parker, Jr. was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center and held overnight for observation. Precautionary tests came back negative; diagnosed as a compression fracture of the L-2 vertebrae.

David Reutimann finished third, the first top-five finish by a Raybestos Rookie this season. He also led the race once for seven laps, the first laps led by a Raybestos Rookie in 2004. His first career top-five finish in the Craftsman Truck Series comes in his second career start. Reutimann has two top-10 finishes in two races this season (he finished ninth at Daytona).
Hamilton Wins at Atlanta
“Mike (Skinner) and I call each other rednecks all the time. He’s a great competitor. He’ll bring a lot of finishes like that to the table, him and Jack Sprague. I was a little bit worried about a green-white-checkered finish because I’ve only done one of them my whole life until today. That was the second one, but it was a pretty cool deal.”
Bad Luck Plagues Houston
What started as a promising day ended with Andy Houston singing the familiar country music refrain: "If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all." Houston started the Easy Care 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway in the 23rd position but quickly maneuvered his Team ASE/ CARQUEST Dodge up to the 14th spot after only four laps.
